‘Supernatural’ season 9: Spin-off currently in the works

SupernaturalWell, how is this for news that rocks the “Supernatural” world to its core? After spending the past several years in some ways feeling very familiar, and endearing at times for that very reason, it was announced to the press today that Warner Bros. and The CW are developing a potential spin-off for the show that will be first teased later on during season 9.

Current reports are that the first mention of the spin-off will come close to episode 20, and there will be a new character that is introduced who will serve in some ways as an anchor for this show. One other important thing to note? This show will supposedly be much more city-based, in comparison to seeing Sam and Dean spending so much of their time wandering around various countrysides battling the likes of demons and other creatures.

One thing that you do have to remember when you hear something like this is that while it is pretty easy for us to make assumptions based on what we are hearing now, remember that there are still plenty of other things that still could be announced. It would not surprise us, for example, for Misha Collins, Jim Beaver, Felicia Day, or some other character to gravitate over to this spin-off, being that it always helps to have a popular character already bringing viewers into the show. (Just look at “The Originals” or “Ravenswood” for recent examples of that.)

What do you think about the idea of a “Supernatural” spin-off, and do you have hope that it will actually succeed? If you want to read some more highlights from the “Supernatural” panel this year, and to also view the full sizzle reel that they showed off, just be sure to click here.
