‘American Idol 15’: Adam Lambert to perform ‘Welcome to the Show’ on Thursday show

American Idol -This week, the top 6 on “American Idol” is going to be whittled down to the top 5, and to go along with that, you’re going to get a chance to see yet another performance from one of the most-notable contestants to appear on the show. Specifically, we’re talking today about none other than Adam Lambert!

Adam, who of course was a star from season 8, will perform a new single entitled “Welcome to the Show.” In a press release, he had the following to say about the track:

“I wanted to surprise my fans with a new, uplifting anthem for the spring … I asked Max Martin for help and he paired me up with two great writers and producers; Ali Payami, who worked with me on ‘Ghost Town,’ and Swedish star Laleh who is also a featured vocalist on the track. I feel this song will give people strength to be exactly who they are.”

There’s no mention of if he will be judging or doing anything else on the show, but we’re just happy that he’s back for the final season and we won’t complain about that. We already know that he can judge, given that he was actually there for when last year’s winner Nick Fradiani first tried out.

You can hear a brief snippet of “Welcome to the Show” below. The song is coming out on Thursday, which means that it is pretty smartly timed in order to make the most of his appearance on the show.
